What is Conserving WATER?

SO WHAT IS WATER CONVERSATION?

T To ensure the AVAILABILITY of fresh WATER for future generations. The rate of withdrawal of WATER should not exceed the rate of replacement of WATER to the natural surroundings!

T To conserve energy because WATER management consumes significant amount of energy. For eg, California has over 15% of their total electricity consumption goes toWATER management.

T To conserve habitat by preserving fresh WATER habitaats for wildlife as well as reducing the need to build dams.

WATER conservation is BIG, but every little bit helps

If everyone on Earth is giving a SMALL help, it will become a BIG help.

Hence, all of us must play our part on conserving WATER!

WATER conservation needs to be a way of life, not some that we do once in a while.

If everyone of us play our part, we can make a HUGE difference to the environment!!

Reducing Of Water Consumption In Businesses

Under the Reduce approach, owners and managing agents of commercial/industrial premises are encourage to run Water Efficient Building by monitoring, reviewing and reducing their water consumption by adjusting to efficient flow rates/flush volumes and use of high water efficient labeled products and repairing leaks promptly.

Besides reducing water usage, building owners are encourage to replace the use of potable water by substituting potable water with NEWater, sea water and rainwater wherever feasible for their non-potable usage such as irrigation, general washing, cooling tower, etc.

Under the reuse approach, building owners are encouraged to practice recycling such as in laundry, manufacturing processes, etc.

To complement the 3R approach above, it is also important to value the importance of water and establish good water conservation practices in the organisation.

Why do we conserve WATER?

SAVE WATER, IT’S ALL WE’VE GOT!

WATER is the foundation of food and life!

Other than air, WATER is our most prized resource!

Without WATER, we cannot survive. Without WATER, there will be no living things on Earth!

Saving WATER is also part of saving the ENVIRONMENT!

Lesser energy is required to process and deliver WATER, which helps in reducing pollution!

Saving WATER NOW means having WATER available in the FUTURE!

Conserving WATER minimises the effect of WATER shortages and can help us fight future droughts better!

Save WATER now to ensure enough WATER supply for our descendants!

CONSERVE WATER

WATER is OUR essential resource for life.

* A lack of water to meet daily needs happens to one in three people around the world. *

Today, the scarcity of WATER increases as the need for WATER increases. WATER is needed everywhere; agriculture, industries and households.

If this situation continues, EVERYONE of us would be affected and if we don't do something now, Earth would be LIFELESS.
